If you are involved in a car accident, we recommend that you do not admit fault to the other driver or witnesses. It’s in your best interest not to discuss the car accident with anyone other than your insurance agent, your auto insurance company’s adjuster, your legal counsel, or the police.
We also suggest that you ask to see the other driver’s auto insurance ID card and driver’s license. Record their name, address, insurance company and policy number as listed; also obtain their phone number. Take pictures if possible and notify the police. If you believe that you are not at fault, you should notify the other party’s insurance company as soon as possible.
